Frazier, Elizabeth “Betsy” L. (80) joined her heavenly father on 18 July 2024.
She is survived by her son, three grandchildren, and some wonderful friends and family. Betsy was the eternal optimist, even when thing weren’t the best, she was always available with a smile. Betsy would play a pair of off-suit threes as a potential straight flush every time. As a young woman, she made her life in Norfolk, VA to live by the ocean, which was quite a ways from her beginnings in bucolic Amsterdam, New York (or simply Upstate if you asked her).
As a true connoisseur of all things sweet, her favorite was the M&M, the market for which will likely see a dip in the coming months, as anyone who knew her can attest to her delight at those wonderful chocolate confections. Additionally, she and her grandchildren share a high affection for the “libary”, and her love of reading cheap romance novels was likely unsurpassed.
Although she never made it, she absolutely loved hearing stories of her friend’s extensive travels in beautiful and historic “Itly”. Betsy, along with her warm and genuine smile, will be greatly missed, but all are comforted by her arrival in heaven with her Lord and Savior who will doubtless greet her with unending peanut M&Ms and trashy novels.
Friends (and strangers she would love to have met) can visit with Betsy’s family and friends at Talbot Park Baptist Church (6919 Granby St. Norfolk, VA) on Friday, July 26, with a Celebration of Life prayer service at 11:00 A.M. Please consider a donation to the Virginiazoo.org in lieu of flowers.
