Chesapeake ~ Evelyn Powell Chappell, 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 18, 2021 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Evelyn was born January 8, 1935 in Norfolk County, Virginia. She was a graduate of Deep Creek High School class of 1953.

Evelyn met the love of her life, Donnie Chappell and were married September 4, 1980. Evelyn and Donnie lived in Deep Creek for 26 years and then resided in the Sunray community of Bowers Hill for the past 15 years. Evelyn retired from the Retail Merchants Association in Norfolk, Virginia as an inspector. Her family and friends were her everything. In her spare time, she loved keeping in touch with friend’s through organized functions with the Deep Creek alumni and her pen pals.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Donnie, their little dog, good friend Thorn, and many who thought so much of her sweet, kind, and loving soul.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date and time. to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Evelyn’s memory to the Chesapeake Humane Society.
