Evelyn “Terry” Cumbie, 69, passed away suddenly on January 29, 2026. She was born on November 22, 1956, at Philadelphia Naval Hospital to the late James Billie Cumbie Sr. and Rose Alice Cumbie.
Terry was a devoted and loving mother to her only child, Christopher Allen Cumbie, whom she loved with all her heart. Her greatest joy in life was being “Mom,” and she gave Christopher unwavering love, protection, and support.
She was the oldest sibling lovingly known as “the boss” to her younger sister, Deborah Cumbie-Madaloni, and her brother, James Billy Cumbie Jr., who preceded her in death.
Terry cherished her nephews: Chad Madaloni and his wife Christina, the late Nicholas Madaloni, and Kyle Madaloni. She adored her great-nephew Ty Madaloni and her great-nieces Kayla Madaloni and Alaina Madaloni. She loved them as if they were her own children, always ready for a game, a laugh, or simply acting silly together. Terry also held a special place in her heart for a special little girl, Jordyn.
Family was everything to Terry. She was the most loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. She faithfully helped care for her parents during their times of illness until they passed. She watched over her son with all the love and care a mother could give and was always willing to help anyone in her family or circle of friends whenever she could.
Terry was employed at Hercules Realty for 26 years, where she served as a Senior Accountant. She loved her work and often said she would have gladly worked another 26 years if she could. Throughout her career, she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues who valued her dedication and warm spirit.
Terry will be missed beyond words for the love she gave as a mother, as a sister, as Aunt “T,” and as a loyal friend.
God bless you, Terry. We love you.
You have your wings.
