Francine J. Pearson, originally of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away quietly on Friday, May 31, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. Fran never met a stranger and will be fondly remembered for her brilliant smile and outgoing personality. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and a faithful friend. Fran, a life member of the Roanoke Jaycees, enjoyed volunteering whenever possible and especially enjoyed working with children and adults with special needs.

Fran was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Massie and Harriet Jones, and is survived by her son, Seth Pearson, her daughter and son-in-law Harriet Marks and Mark Todd Marks, her much-adored granddaughter Mariah Marks, her former spouse and lifelong dear friend Damon Pearson, her brother Daniel Hale Jr., her sisters Brenda Hale, Bethel Terry, and Ann J. Smith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would also like to express special gratitude to Mr. & Mrs. Richard and Belinda Copeland, Mr. Ashley Pearson, Mr. & Mrs. William and Peggy Fleming, Rev. Tanya Wilson, Sentara Hospice House, the Ortho-Joint Center at Sentara Obici Hospital, Virginia Oncology Associates, and Dr. Geoffrey Wright and staff.

Family visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm on June 7, 2019 at Loudon Avenue Christian Church in Roanoke, Virginia, with the memorial service immediately after. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Camp Virginia Jaycee.
