Scott Brown, Jr., 75, born December 21,1944, went to be with the lord on September 2, 2020 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Scott loved bowling (how he met his wife Lynda), doing stained glass, puzzles, fishing, crabbing, and everything Jimmy Buffet. He was a huge fan of football and his favorite team being Washington. He was loved by everyone who met him as his personality and infectious smile could fill a room. Scott retired from the City of Virginia Beach as the janitorial supervisor at the courthouse in March of this year. He is preceded in death by his parents, George S. Brown Sr. and Willie Mae Butt Brown, his son Tyler Nichols Brown, and his sister, Verna B. Leonard.

Scott is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lynda A. Brown; his children Ashley R. Powell (Barry) and G.S. (Scooter) Brown III, grandchildren Caleb W. Shelton and Caiden E. Shelton; his step-children Erin L. Vaughan (Ben) and Carrie L, Trent; grandchildren Tatum L. Watkins, Colten D. Gaonach, Elise C. Popina, and Brayden J. Vaughan; sisters Mary Anne B. Simmons and Susan B. Flanagan and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 10:00AM-12:00PM with a service to follow at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA.
