In Loving Memory of Gary Maynard Jones

Gary Maynard Jones, 77, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on September 7, 1948, in Norfolk, Virginia, Gary was the son of Harold and Virginia Jones and brother to David Jones, all of whom preceded him in death.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He married the love of his life, Gail, on June 8, 1991, and together they built a life full of laughter, faith, and adventure. He was a proud father to his two daughters, Stacey Roberson (husband Daniel) and Kristy Flynn, and a deeply loving “Papa” to his grandchildren—Analeigh, Ethan, and Emma—who were the absolute joy of his life.

A man of integrity and determination, Gary founded and owned his own medical billing business, where his work ethic and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on those he worked with. Outside of work, he found peace and happiness on the golf course or sailing on the water, but his true passion was serving the Lord.

Gary was a faithful member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, where he devoted his time to ministry and helping others. He was the kind of man who would always lend a hand, share a smile, and brighten the day of anyone he met. His sense of humor, compassion, and steadfast faith touched countless lives.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Norfolk on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11 a.m.
