George Emmett Coleman Sr., a devoted father and a serviceman, passed away on November 20, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 88. Born on November 17, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the cherished son of the late Minus George Alphonse Coleman and Emma Elisabeth Coleman.

George dedicated much of his life to serving his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Navy, which he served two years. His commitment to duty and service was evident throughout his career, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He resided in Hampton, Virginia, where he enjoyed the company of family and friends. George is survived by his beloved children, George Emmett Coleman II and Tunaee Fabyan, who carries forward their father’s legacy with pride. George is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his sisters Paulette Swingler and Beverly Harris.

Services for Mr. Coleman have not been scheduled at this time. His family appreciates the outpouring of support during this difficult period and asks that those wishing to honor George’s memory do so by keeping him in their thoughts and prayers.
