I had the privilege of working with George by representing Riverside Health System at the State Capitol. All my interactions with George were so much fun. He loved coming up to Richmond to cause all sorts of havoc since Riverside usually went against the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association priorities. I worked with George on certificate of public need campaigns and we had so many hilarious moments at public hearings or even preparing for public testimony. He was so kind and generous with his time, and suffered no fools. We went to battle many times in legislative committees for many important health care issues. One of the best memories I have of him was working on opening Doctors Hospital of Williamsburg-- too many to tell-- but needless to say we had a great time at local church BBQ's and Virginia Indian ceremonies to bless the Hospital. I loved working for George because it never felt like work. He made everything fun, interesting and loved his family at Riverside. He always shared his love of Brenda and his grand kids. He was one of the first people to call me when he found out I was going to be a Mom--and sent me facebook messages as my son grew up. I love the person he was, his humor, his love of his Brenda-- and his passion for life. Thankful to have known him and will raise a glass tonight as I giggle at his silly jokes and sweetest smile. God Bless you all. Very thankful you all shared him with us at work--- and sending you all my deepest sympathies and love for a life very well lived. -BEA

I am so sorry to hear this; George was very instrumental in my legal career as I represented Riverside Health System in COPN matters for many years working alongside George. He taught me a lot about health planning and operations which has served me well. He was such an enjoyable person to talk with and took an interest in my life and family as well as sharing about his. My deepest condolences to both his personal and professional families - I know he will be very missed
