It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our family mourns the passing of a loving mother and grandmother. Glenda Mae Cadena passed away on the morning of September 11th with her family beside her. Born in the mountains of Alabama, she grew up on her family’s beautiful farm in the country. At the age of 17, she became a proud Airforce/Navy wife and has always been in great support of the people that serve our country. She spent the majority of her life in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by the people she held dear. Glenda had a great love for the ocean and the angels above. We will always remember her to be such a kind and good person. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hildreth and Loyd, and her brother Dwight. Though, she will forever live on in the memory and hearts of her brother, Tony McClendon; her three children and their spouses: Chris Cadena and Scarlet Cadena, Kimberly Schwaner and Patrick Schwaner, and Tracy Ogden and Mike Ogden; her eight grandchildren: Tyler Cadena, Breanna Schwaner, Nash Ogden, Olivia Schwaner, Kennedy Ogden, Delaney Ogden, Chris Childress, and Stephanie Goldsmith; as well as her seven great-grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished, and she will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in honor of Glenda to the Wounded Warrior Project in support of the people who serve our country.
