Helen Mae Schoettler, 92, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family.  Helen was born September 6, 1929 to Ralph and Helen Kevan in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She worked for many years as a secretary for her community churches and later a receptionist of a busy Oral Surgery Practice in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Helen married twice. First to Robert M. McWade,IV with whom she had one child, Kristine, and two grandchildren Arthur and Natalie . She then married the love of her life Martin J Schoettler, Sr., the marriage added three stepsons to her life, Marty Schoettler Jr.( spouse Staci ) , Mike Schoettler ( spouse Lyn), and Mark Schoettler( spouse Carolyn).  Sadly, Helen was widowed in 1987 with the passing of her beloved husband.

Helen loved family and friends and was very active throughout her lifetime. She took up roller skating in her fifties, where she met her second love Leroy Thompson who became her loving companion for many years.  Adding to her extended family his children, Mark Thompson, Paul Thompson, Lorraine Haddock, and Elaine Alestra.

In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Helen was predeceased by her two older brothers Ralph Kevan and Robert Kevan.

Helen was lighthearted and quick witted, and enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, her three stepsons, 9 grandchildren,  9 great grandchildren ,  her loving  extended family and  beloved friends.

An small intimate graveside service will be held with the family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
