Henry Nathaniel (Nate) Berry, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at home in Suolk, VA. He was born on March 6, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA to the late William Henry Berry and Franceina Mamie Berry.   He was educated in the Philadelphia school system and later worked and retired from the city of Philadelphia.

On July 16, 1960, Henry symbolized his dedication to Jehovah by water baptism and faithfully served as an elder and pioneer until his death. He was known by many for his love of the ministry and sharing Bible truths with anyone who would listen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Gibson and Franceina Ayers and brothers, Freddie Berry and William Berry. He is survived by one sister, Annie Wallop.

Nate is loved by the love of his life, Elsie, of 59 years. That union produced 3 children, Nanita Boykins (Michael), Charlette Smith (Steven) and Niona Berry. Additionally, there are 5 grandchildren, Kennard Boykins (Anuther), Kathleen Boykins, Kyndric Boykins (Laura), Asya Smith and Tasia Smith along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, adopted family and special friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1351 White Marsh Road, Suolk, VA.

Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
