Continue ReadingHubert Arthur Fowlkes, Jr., of Virginia Beach, VA transitioned to heaven following an extended illness on August 23, 2022. Mr. Fowlkes was born in San Diego, CA on February 14, 1939. He was the son of the late Commander Hubert Arthur Fowlkes, Sr. and Dorothy Powers Fowlkes. He was an atomic veteran of the Vietnam era.
He is survived by his wife, Dinah Cleaton Fowlkes; his two sons, Hubert Arthur Fowlkes III and Nathaniel Heath Fowlkes and his wife, Kristen; his two granddaughters, Lillie and Emilia Fowlkes; his sister, Nancy Fowlkes Reid; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Fowlkes’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Colonial Baptist Church at 2221 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Mr. Fowlkes to the Virginia Beach Theological Seminary at 2221 Centerville Turnpike.
