Jacqueline Harrell Koch, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 27th 2024 in Norfolk, Virginia. Jackie was the daughter of the late Robert and Susan DeLoatch Harrell of Norfolk, Virginia. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Norfolk. Jackie was the MVP basketball player at Holy Trinity Catholic School during her senior year.
Jackie met the love of her life, Robert Joseph Koch while singing in the choir at Chapel by the Sea NAS. Jackie and Bob were married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on May 12th 1950. Bob and Jackie lovingly welcomed eight children. They were additionally blessed with eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren with one on the way, along with one great-great grandson. Jackie’s family was everything to her. In her spare time she loved gardening, being at the beach and traveling.
Jackie was preceded in death by the love of her life her husband Bob, her sisters, Jeanne Pinkston and Nancy Busch; her son, Bobby Koch Jr.; daughters, Ginny K. Frye and Mary Jo Koch lI; grandson, Charles Avery Koch; and son in law, Shawn O’Connor.
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Terry K. O’Connor and Vicki K. Foglia (Robert); her sons, Stephen Koch, Charles Koch (Julianne) and Richard Koch (Vicki McLeod); her sister, Susan Sugar Barrows of Norfolk, and her sister in law Mary Jo Koch of Butler PA; her daughter in law, Diane Wall and son in law Jack Frye (Mary); along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday, August 10th at 1pm with Fr. Jun Felipe officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk. Memorial donations in Jacqueline’s name may be made to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church food pantry.
