He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sherri, sons; Cameron (Casey), Tanner (Jillian), his sisters; Mary Ellen (Marvin), Dottie (Al), and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and CoCo.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1501 Kempsville Rd., Norfolk at 3 p.m.

Dear Sherry, Cameron, and Tanner
Donna and I send our deepest sympathy and condolences on the passing of our friend Jim. Not many know how much he contributed as a leader at the Ocean Park Fire Department and Rescue Squad back in the seventies. Jim was a Rescue Captain, and my sons and I ran many rescue calls with Jim. Jim and Donna and I also flew to various airshows over the years, and Jim and my grandson and I flew to upstate New York to his relatives home on the lake. Although no longer with us physically, Jim remains in our hearts.
