James was born in Danville, Virginia where he met and married Jacqueline Faye Mills. Shortly after James graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, he worked for NASA from 1956 to 1990, where he received many awards for his work on numerous shuttle and satellite programs.
After retirement, James, along with his wife Jackie, spent many years in Clermont, Florida before returning back to Virginia to be closer to family.
James Siviter was preceded in death by his wife Jackie who passed September 22, 2015.
He is survived by 2 sons, Jim and Mike; as well as 6 grandchildren, Myke, Danny, Brooke, Jaime, Isaac, Makenna and four great grandchildren. James was an avid photographer.
Those close to him now remember him as being quite the comedian.
As James would say, “that’s all folks.”
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
