Sorry to here of his passing, he was a good guy...

On March 27th I was searching the internet to locate an old friend of mine and sadly learned that James R. Stiff had passed away 2 days earlier. We both lived in the Pembroke Courts apartments back in the early 70's and spent many good times together, especially cruising around Virginia Beach in his corvette. "Jim" was always writing articles for the Virginia Beach Beacon about a variety of events going on at the Courts Recreation Center ( Toga Party, Clam Bake, Annual Halloween Kiddie Parade, Volley Ball Games, Teen Swimming Competitions, etc. ). We spent many great times together through the years and I truly appreciated his kindness and generosity. I am sorry I missed getting in touch with Jim before his passing, but all of the wonderful memories will remain. Our prayers and condolences go out to All Family & Friends. Jim was a friend and coworker at the Virginian Pilot's Virginia Beach office, and I was sad to see his obituary. He was a veteran reporter. I'm lucky to have worked with him and loved hearing his hair-raising tales of the covering the Norfolk cops beat in the old days.
