A devoted homemaker, Joan created a nurturing environment that was a haven for her family. The aroma of blooming flowers from her beloved garden, where she spent countless hours tending to nature’s beauty was one of her great joys. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in sewing, knitting, and crocheting, crafting treasures that will continue to warm the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen W. Barr, and her loving parents, Ernest and Ellen Mills. She is survived by her loving children, Jeffery Barr and Laura Drucker, her cherished granddaughter, Nicole Drucker, and her two adored cats, Ellis and Thomas, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Her family will honor her memory in a private memorial service at Williamsburg Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, they kindly request that donations be made in Joan’s name to The Heritage Humane Society, reflecting her lifelong love for animals.
