She was born in Alexandria, Virginia, where she was the daughter of the late Oliver Franklin Beatty and Mary Thelma Sanborn. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Thelma Warner. Joan was married in 1961 to the late Robert David Beavers and moved to Virginia Beach where they had two children, Jill and Jeffrey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jill Showers (Donald) and Jeffrey Beavers; Grandchildren include Ashley Marie Fortner, Jake David Beavers and Joshua Tyler Beavers, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors and celebrate her life at her home at 3212 Gallahad Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Virginia Beach ASPCA and Virginia Beach Humane Society.
