John Graham O’Keeffe, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 81. Born on December 19, 1943, in Bluefield, West Virginia, John lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his profession, and his passions.
John was a distinguished certified public accountant, whose career was characterized by integrity and excellence. He was a proud alumnus of North Carolina State University, where he was an active member of the Sigma Nu fraternity forming lifelong friendships that he cherished deeply. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and watched Georgia Bulldog football every season. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a man of varied interests. He found great joy in antique sports cars, fishing, and sailing. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family, creating countless memories filled with love and laughter.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John Graham O’Keeffe Sr. and Marjorie Farmer O’Keeffe, as well as his brother, William Lathrop O’Keeffe. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his devoted wife, Linda Logan O’Keeffe; his daughters, Martha Ashley Pettus and her husband Dr. Benjamin James Pettus of Williamsburg, and Elizabeth O’Keeffe Wolfgram and her husband Peter Bryant Wolfgraham of Fairfax, California. He was a proud grandfather to Svitlana Honcharova, Rebekah Pettus, Maggie Pettus, Aliza Pettus, Nate Pettus, Jackson Pettus, and Idris O’Keeffe Wolfgram.
John is also survived by his brother, James Wharton O’Keeffe of Pasadena, California, and his sister, Marjorie O’Keeffe Castleberry of New Bern, North Carolina. His extended family and many friends will remember him fondly for his laughter, sense of humor and love of family.
A graveside service will be held on a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Virginia, where family and friends will gather to celebrate John’s life and honor his memory.
John Graham O’Keeffe, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his remarkable life.
