It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Mark Wright, of Williamsburg, Virginia, who left this world on June 15, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born on April 29, 1958, to Wilson Monroe Wright and Hazel Florence Jacob, John grew up with strong family values and a deep love for the simple things in life. A hardworking man through and through, John was known for his love of country music, a cold beer in hand, a long day spent fishing, and competitive rounds of horseshoes or darts with family and friends.
John leaves behind his loving fiancé, Jennifer Richmond, and his cherished sons, John Wright and Mark Wright. He was a proud grandfather to Jasmine Wright, Jaxon Wright, Angelina Wright, and Kennedy Wright, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He is survived by his devoted siblings and their spouses: Dennis and Kay Wright, Debra and Jack Baird, Geoff and Vivian Wright, Bernard and Stacey Wright, Timothy and Theresa Wright, and William Wright. John was preceded in death by his brothers Monroe Wright and Joey Wright, whose memories remained close to his heart.
John was a man who lived life on his own terms—fiercely loyal, deeply generous, and always ready with a story or a laugh. His presence filled every room, and his absence leaves a silence that words cannot fill.
He will be forever remembered, deeply missed, and always loved.
A celebration of life will be held at the Williamsburg Moose at 5429 Richmond Rd. Williamsburg Va. 23188 on June 28, 2025 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, raise a glass in his honor and remember the good times shared.
Rest easy, John. You earned it.
