On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, Joseph Carl “JC” Greene, tragically passed away at the age of 44. JC was born on November 9, 1976 in Norfolk, VA to Joseph Robert Greene and Beatrice Anne Greene (Brooks). He was born and raised in Hampton Roads in the Indian River area of Chesapeake. JC enjoyed working hard to provide the best life he could for himself and his family. In 2005 he and his mother founded a family construction company, Small % Contractors, Inc which he served as the Vice President and jobsite foreman.
Sadly, he suffered a massive stroke in February 2021 however has been incredibly strong and was doing great in physical therapy over the last 5 months. July 19th while heading downstairs to cook dinner for his family he fell going down the stairs hitting his head so hard it caused his brain to bleed. He had a tremendous love for his family and his passing was so unexpected. He truly enjoyed working hard on jobsites and loved gardening. JC built an amazing koi pond with a waterfall and created unique flowerbeds that were always full of color and life. He has always worked hard to have a nice truck which he loved washing every chance he had. His contagious smile and charismatic personality will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Anne Greene (Brooks) and his father, Joseph Robert Greene. As well as his fiancé of 18 years, Cynthia Anne Moore and his two children, Joseph Carl “JC” Greene Jr (14) and Jacob Truman Greene (6). His beloved Aunts, Lynda Carl Ledbury and Callie Jane Rathbun and Uncle James Robert Brooks; as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased in his death by his uncle William Lewis Brooks and lifelong family friend, James Truman Hand.
In honor of JC’s wishes his immediate family will have a private service to say their final goodbyes. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in his name to the American Heart Association at heart.org to help other stroke survivors.
