June Padgett Reynolds, born on September 17, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 81. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and faith, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her.
June was a devoted employee of the Department of Taxation, where she worked diligently for 35 years. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and her faith. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Richmond, Virginia, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with learning and community.
A woman of deep faith, June loved the Lord and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She shared a very close bond with her daughter, Robyn Ashton, and treasured every moment spent with her. June also found delight in the companionship of Robyn’s and CJ’s dogs, Gypsy and Macho, and enjoyed shopping, visiting Starbucks, getting her hair done, and dining out at restaurants.
June is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Grant; her mother, Ruth Padgett; her stepfather, Andy Padgett; and her beloved son, Thomas Franklin Duke III. She is survived by her loving daughter, Robyn Ashton, and her husband, Steve; her adored grandchildren, CJ Bell and his wife, Christine Cabanas Bell; and Victoria Ashton; and her cousin, Bud Melton.
Her kindness and warmth touched everyone she met. We hold onto these memories, knowing that this little piece of mom on earth and her enduring love will always be with us.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life for June at a later date.
