Kim L. Shell passed away on Memorial Day, May 30, 2022. She fought hard during a more than a year long battle with cancer and complications until the Lord welcomed her home.
Kim was born in Green Bay, WI and will be greeted in Heaven by her brothers; Bob, Gary and Dusty; her favorite Aunt Angie; many other beloved relatives and dear friends; and high fives from her grand-cat Baby Kitty. She leaves behind her husband of more than fifty years, Jim Shell; brother, Mark; her children, Robert Shell, James Shell II and his wife Bekah (nee’ Nowinski), Amanda Shell and her fiancée, Tim Baren; sweet grandchild, Vivianne Shell; grand-cat Maui; as well as several cousins and many friends.
She excelled her full-time career as a Navy wife and her proudest accomplishments, as an incredible mom of three and a loving Grandma. Raising her kids in a military community, everyone took turns watching each other’s kids and helping out however they could. She was known for her Lumpia and for baking and decorating cakes for birthdays. Over the years, she also enjoyed sharing her southern culinary delights with her family including her Holiday Sweet Potato Crack and her scrumptious deviled eggs made with lots of love and a little bit of magic.
She was always available to her family and friends, to listen and provide comfort and encouragement, no matter the challenge, and was always the first to celebrate joys. She had the kindest sparkle in her green eyes and a beautiful smile. She will be lovingly remembered for her cheeky humor and smile through even the toughest circumstances. She loved God and was ready to dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
A private celebration of Kim’s life was provided by the Cremation Society of Virginia.
Instead of flowers, Kim would have loved it if you provide an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness or a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name. American Cancer Society: https://amp.cancer.org/
