She graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1972, George Washington University for graduate school in 1985, and Florida State University for graduate school in 1991. She was in the Civil Service industry at Fort Monroe as an Education Specialist until retiring in 2010.
Lorraine was married to the late Winfred (Beck) Beckwith.
She is survived by her stepsons, Timothy Beckwith and James Beckwith; stepdaughter, Tina Beckwith; and grandchildren, Sydney Beckwith and Jayden Beckwith.
She was the president of VFW Auxillary Post 3219.
Friends and family members may attend the celebration of life service on Saturday, October 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at VFW Post 3219 Phoebus, 122 E. Mellen Street, Hampton, Virginia, 23663.
The funeral home will be Cremation Society of Virginia – Hampton Roads Office, 954 J. Clyde Morris Blve, Suite 102, Newport News, 757-643-8945.
