VIRGINIA BEACH – Louis “Lou” Albert Troughton Jr, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22nd in Virginia Beach, VA, with family by his side.

Born October 22, 1926 in Montague, Michigan to Louis and Mildred Troughton. He was the 1st of seven children. Lou was a Navy Veteran who attended Annapolis Naval Academy where he studied Engineering. It was at an Army Navy dance that he met the love of his life, Colleen. They married on December 26, 1947, together they raised three children and were happily married for 70 years. Lou was a devoted husband, father and
grandfather. He was known for intellectual mind and his MacGyver style of fixing all things. He was an avid reader who had a passion for writing and informing people on everything from politics, technology and healthy living. Lou was outgoing and remained active in the retirement community
he and Colleen lived in. He would host trivia games, write articles for the community newsletter and he was always seen walking the grounds talking to people. He touched many lives and will deeply missed.

He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Colleen (Evans) Troughton; his two sons, Kelly and Dale, daughter, Carey; grandchildren Hilary, Shawn, Rachel, Josh; greatgrandchildren Meghan, Caitlin, Griffin and Lincoln.
