Louise Lillie McCoy, born on April 24, 1955, in Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 70. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering independence.

Louise was a devoted cafeteria worker at Woodside High School from its opening, where she touched countless lives with her warm smile and generous spirit. Her dedication to her work and the students she served was evident to all who knew her.

A woman of many passions, Louise was an avid crafter whose creations brought joy to those around her. A follower of Jesus, she lived her faith through acts of kindness and a deep love for her community. Louise’s admiration for Elvis Presley was well-known, as was her playful disdain for the Beatles. She adored Groot, cherished the American flag, and relished spending time with her family over lively games of Canasta and Zombie.

Louise’s culinary skills were legendary to her family; her deviled eggs, potato salad, and hot wings were unmatched and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. An independent spirit, she loved her friends fiercely and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elizabeth Maybell Russell and Bobby Ray Williams Sr. and Claire Williams , her sister Sandra Berry and brother-in-law Tom Berry, and Brenda Taylor, and her cherished cats Callie and Cassie who we are sure were waiting for her at the rainbow bridge, Louise leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.

She is survived by her loving children, Cheryl Taylor (Eric) and Joseph Wade McCoy Jr. (Brandi); her treasured grandchildren, Elizabeth Taylor, Amber Taylor, and Jonathan Taylor; her siblings Kerry Boyd, Judy Egli, Bobby Williams Jr., Emmett Williams, and Diana Beekley; her affectionate cat Sunshine; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Louise Lillie McCoy’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and light. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
