Lyle Middleton, born June 25, 1937, passed away peacefully in his Virginia Beach home on December 12, 2025, at the age of 88. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Shortly after Lyle was married and started his family, he joined the Air Force in which he served 8 years. After the Air Force, Lyle dedicated most of his professional life as a car mechanic. He worked very hard and worked his way up in that field. His passion shined through and he achieved the status master mechanic and master Volkswagen mechanic. Lyle helped many people in need fix their vehicle at low or no cost to them. He would often spend hours in extreme elements under the hood of a car just to lend a helping hand.
When Lyle was not working on cars, he enjoyed Nascar races and traveling to many different places, especially ones with warmer climates. He was such a caring man whose actions spoke louder than any word ever could.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gailya, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage; his three sons: Lyle, Jr. (wife, Louise), Daniel, and Jeff; his two surviving sisters, Judy Cashwell (husband, Eddie) and Gail Turner (predeceased husband, Woody); several nieces and nephews; and countless friends who will carry his memory forward.
A private family memorial will be announced at a later date.
