Margaret Jo Jacobia Brooks, 74, of Hampton, peacefully passed away in her home on October 6, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Margaret Jacobia and her sister, Bonnie Heatherly.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Brooks; her daughters, Tami (Pat), Taunya (Lincoln), and son, Tory (Julie); her six grandchildren, Casey (Nicole), Meaghan (Christian), Eyan, Loreen, Kristin, Kailey; and her great granddaughter, Harper; her cousin, Marte (Tony); her nephew, Eric; her sister-in-law, Cheryl; and nieces, Dawn (Pat) and Lisa.

She was born in Oak Park, Illinois  and raised in Roselle, Illinois. She graduated from Lake Park HS in 1965 and married Dennis on June 11, 1966. She was a military wife for 26 years. She was strong and courageous and took on the roll of both mom and dad for more than half of those years and never complained. She retired from the Ft. Eustis commissary in 2012. She loved playing bingo, rummikub, and Super Mario Sunshine, crocheting, and making quilts for the family. Her favorite past time was taking cruises with family and friends. Her favorite place they were stationed was Garmisch, Germany. She loved to sing and play piano. She loved the lord and her church family. She was our person, our go to, our rock and will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
