Our heartfelt condolences to Chris, Tom and the family. We are so very sorry this has happened. We met Mark at the East Coast Star Party and were always glad that he had brought along Chris and Tom – they all seemed to enjoy the fun and the stars so much. Mark's favorite view was of a beautiful star cluster in the constellation Cassiopeia named Caroline's Rose. From now on, for us, that will be "Mark's Rose".

We will miss Mark's smiling face and booming voice at star parties and BBAA club meetings. Mark was active in spreading the joy of amateur astronomy, to his grandnephews and to the public. He had a stint as president of the club, and enjoyed his time out under the stars with his astro-buddies. So long, Mark.

Mark will be missed. He always brought a certain joy to the astronomy events that he attended. I enjoyed watching him spend time with his nephews and help them learn and appreciate the wonders of the heavens. Rest in peace, Mark, and may you experience the fullness of peace and joy.

We have lost a good observing companion in Mark but we have gained another bright star in the night sky. Be at peace Mark.

I have lost a friend and a fellow astronomical observing buddy. Spent some great nights looking up into the stars with Mark and now Mark is peering back down to us. We are all going to miss you. Rest in Peace mark. Oh, and tell your mom hello from all of us in the Back Bay Amateur Astronomers!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

The world of amateur astronomy lost a long time companion and colleague with the passing of Mark. He loved the night sky, our larger home. In the infinity of the universe, we are diminished by his loss. Those of us who remain will not fail to remember him when we, once again, go home to the stars, as the sun sets on the day. Godspeed Mark.
