Mark Thomas Winkler, 62, entered into his heavenly home on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was born on March 21, 1960 in Norfolk, Virginia to Walter Edwin and Ann Winkler.
Mark is survived by his parents Ed and Ann along with one brother Bryce Edwin; two sisters, Stephenie Lord Piland and her husband Michael Piland, April Leigh Jenkins and her husband Mike Jenkins and a host of extended family and great loving friends.
Mark was employed by the City of Chesapeake for 18 years. His heart always belonged to the Lord and he was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church for the last 22 years where he served as a greeter, host and collection of the offering for the House of the Lord. Mark’s smile and personality but most importantly his kind and big heart will never be forgotten. If you were ever blessed to have known Mark then you knew he was very giving, kind and loving with everything he did. He was willing to help others and never asking for anything in return. Once you met Mark for the first time it seems everyone he was just like a brother to to them “How lucky were you!”
Mark’s biggest joy was following his favorite football team Alabama Crimson Tide, when the team played there was no moving Mark from a TV screen.
As per Mark’s wishes there will be a private ceremony for the family but if you wish you may make a donation to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
So as you walk down those beautiful streets of gold hand in hand with our beloved Cris and the rest of our loved ones, say it loud and proud as we will always and forever remember hearing you say:
“ROLL TIDE”
Please leave a memory or word of condolence with the family.
