Martha came into this world feet first. Somehow that set the tone for her life on Earth. As the 8th child of Saxton D. Crawford and Gladys Groom Lively of Birmingham, AL she was recognized for her unique way of reaching the hearts of her students at Holy Child Academy, Old Westbury, NY through her enormous gift of being an extraordinary talent as an artist. Having worked for Jim Hendson, the Muppets, she was gifted by the magic of creative talent that surrounded her. She met her beloved husband, Matthew Kerrins, also one of nine in his family, working for Henson Associates.
Martha leaves a multitude of family members, her beloved nieces, and nephews, and greats, whom she was a second mother to and loved with all her being. Her siblings Kirk, Rick, Chryssie, Mary and Jeanne will forever miss her, especially her humor. Her husband’s family has meant so much to her in this life. And her besties, Diane, Mary Anne, Vandana.
In the words of Kermit, “Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Va. Beach Friends Meeting, 1537 Laskin Road, VB 23451 At 2:00 p.m. on March 16, 2024.
