Mary K. McNish, born on October 13, 1950, in Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, in Hampton, Virginia, at the age of 75.
Mary was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated many years of her life to her work at Williamsburg Hospitality House, where she was known for her warmth and dedication.
In her personal life, Mary found joy in creating beautiful stained glass pieces, working with flowers, and sharing her love through cooking. Her greatest delight was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she affectionately referred to as her “Grandbabies.”
Mary is preceded in death by her beloved Larry Dorsey, her granddaughter Morgan Crayton, her parents June Balch and Robert Gann, and her brothers Terry Taylor and Scott Taylor.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters Angela Bailey “McNish” and Melissa Dorsey; her granddaughter Ashley McNish; her great-granddaughters Isabella Crayton, Abigail Manasco, and Kenley Manasco; her great-grandson Zane Foxworth; and her sisters Bobbie Exford and Linda Michaels.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time to honor Mary’s remarkable journey and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
