Matthew Clayton “Matt” Sandifer, 48, peacefully passed away Monday, April 10th at his home in Virginia Beach, VA. He is predeceased by his father Harold C. “Sandy” Sandifer and his mother Virginia “Ginny” Sandifer. He is survived by his fiancé, Courtney Turtle, and his cousin Justin Hawks and many dear friends.

Matt was born on March 5th, 1975 in Norfolk, VA. He attended Bayside High and lived his entire life in the Hampton Roads area, working at various times as a on offshore fisherman, a landscaper and trucker. Matt loved being in the outdoors and was an enthusiast of all-terrain vehicles and 4-wheelers, spending much of his free time either riding with friends or fixing them up in his home garage. Matt was also an avid fan of history, particularly military history.
