Mike was born on May 22, 1973 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Wayne Wallace Sr. and Judith Tribby Tackett, both of whom survive him. Mike graduated from Niles McKinley High School (Niles, Ohio) in 1991. He went on to graduate from the IBEW apprenticeship program and become a journeyman wireman. He was also a licensed Master Electrician. In 2004, he moved to the Hampton Roads area and began working at Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) as a high voltage electrician. In 2016, he was promoted to foreman of the electrical new construction crew at NNS. Mike was an avid boater, fisherman, and surfer. He also loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Premier League soccer.

Mike is survived by his two children, Mia Wallace and Nathaniel (Nate) Wallace; his parents’ spouses, Karen Wallace and Dennis Tackett; his siblings and their spouses, Wayne (Leslie) Wallace, Shannon (James) Ciortan, Jeff (Brenda) Wallace, and Adam (Sara) Wallace; and his nephews and niece, Jake, Zack, Tyden, Tanner, Cooper, and Soirn.

A memorial gathering will be held for friends and family on May 13th from 4-7pm at Hot Tuna, 2817 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

Mike was just a straight up good person. I can't think of one person that didn't like him. He will always be missed in the 046 Electrical Department of NN shipbuilding, where he always felt like family. If the immediate family needs anything at all, his secondary family and 046 buddy's are just a call away
