Michael “Mike” Adamchuk, 77, passed away on January 12, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA. Mike had a wonderful career and life filled with enjoyment. After undergraduate studies at Northeastern University and graduate work at George Washington University in Washington, DC, he joined forces with the FDIC as a bank examiner. He did examination work throughout western and upstate New York. In the mid-70s, he advanced in his career at headquarters in Washington, DC where he finished out his career, retiring in 2002. After retiring, he spent a life of leisure enjoying golfing, cruising, dining, reading, solving crossword puzzles and cooking. He also loved to collect history books, fountain pens and writing implements.
His parents, George and Rita Adamchuk, predeceased him, as well as a late wife, Linda Rivers. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Michele, as well as his son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Amber, and grandson, Devon, all local. He also leaves behind his daughter, Jessi Larick, and her partner, Tammy, in Boyce, VA, as well as his brother, Mark, in PA and his sister, Cheryl, in MA. The Carolan step-family of Sean, Heather, Hannah and Kaylee also survive him in Jacksonville, FL.
