Nan Patterson Jones passed away on 2/17/23. She was born in Newport News, VA and grew up in the famed ” Old Newsome Park” Community. She attended Carver Primary & Secondary High school. She was preceded in death by husband (divorced), Samuel W. Jones; her parents, Jesse & Bessie Patterson; her brothers, Ronald Patterson & Jesse Patterson, Jr.; and her sister, Irene Patterson Wrenn.

Nan lived her life raising her sons Rodney, Tyrone (Ricky), and Damon (Day Day) Jones. Nan enjoyed cheering on her sons in sports, teaching them how to survive, charming and making friends, encouraging and helping people known and unknown that crossed her path, always doing something artistic, and playing games with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her brothers, Danny (Faye) Patterson, and Al (Patricia) Patterson; her (3) forementioned sons; multiple grandchildren, Latoya, Jasmine, Jade, Eli, Khayil, Samuel, Brandon, Tyquan; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of friends and nurses that were apart of her life prior to her passing.
A memorial service will be held on March 4th, 2023 at 12:00pm at Commonwealth Green Club House.
