Nancy Goodwin Tando, aged 77, of Newport News, VA transferred to the Church Triumphant on July 14, 2020 after a yearlong bout with cancer. She was born in 1943 in Baltimore, MD to Andrew and Hallie Goodwin, along with her siblings, Joyce and Ronald. She grew up working in her parent’s grocery store, Goodwin’s Market and later Angel’s Food Market. She graduated from Patterson High and then the University of Maryland. There she met her husband, Albert, while attending Intervarsity Fellowship at UMD. Following their marriage in 1964 they went on to have 3 children. In 1976 they moved to New Orleans, where she worked as a Materials Requirements Clerk for Martin Marietta at the Michoud Assembly Facility as part of the space shuttle program. She also received a second degree from the University of New Orleans. In 1993 she and her husband retired to Florida. After being widowed she moved to Virginia to live with her daughters. Nancy enjoyed traveling to see friends and family, history, reading, knitting, and anything Star Trek. She was a longtime supporter of Music Mission Kiev, Harvest USA, and Mission to the World.  She is survived by her brother, Ronald; and her children, Margaret (Conrad), Richard (Catherine), and Kathryn (Wayne); 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on August 15, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Hampton Christian Elementary School: 2424 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666, followed by a reception at the home of her eldest daughter.
