Nancy J. Thomas, born on May 14, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 74.
Nancy was a dedicated associate at Kmart, where she worked diligently and made lasting friendships with her colleagues. After her retirement, Nancy became an associate at Walmart. Her passion for cross stitch and writing fan fiction brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Richard and Ruth Ann Lobes, and her cherished granddaughter, Briana Barnette.
Nancy is survived by her loving family: her daughters, April Thomas, and Jennifer Thomas and her wife Theresa; her sons, Richard Thomas and his wife Virginia, and Michael Thomas and his wife Laura. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Brittany Barnette, Bailey Barnette, Jacob Bishop, Dylan Thomas, Mikey Walters and his wife Irina, and Zachary Walters and his wife Courtney. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, C.J. Barnette, Emilee Barnette, Trae Walters, Wesley Walters, Sophia Lucas, Sebastian Lucas, Tilly Walters, and Jamie Walters.
Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A memorial service to honor her life will be announced at a later date.
