Randall Jay White passed away on December 16, 2021 in Norfolk, VA. Randy was born in Camden NJ, October 10, 1956 to Jean B and Richard White Jr. He was a graduate of Mount Hebron High School – Ellicott City, MD and Calhoun Marine Engineering School – Baltimore, MD.
Randy traveled the world as a Marine Engineer. He spent the early part of his sailing career crewing on commercial vessels which took him around the globe. Afterwards he worked as chief engineer on the USS Mohawk, an ocean-going tug vessel operated by Military Sealift Command (MSC), out of Norfolk, VA in conjunction with the US Navy. After completing his career with MSC, Randy settled in Norfolk, where he engaged in private business and lived the rest of his life. He loved gardening, especially growing vegetables, which he enjoyed giving to neighbors and friends. He also liked to cook and bake.
Randy was predeceased by his parents Jean and Richard. Left to cherish his memory is his older brother R Allan White and sister-in-law Cindee White of Ellicott City, MD in addition to loving family and friends. Randy was never married and had no children.
A private service will be held at a later date. His ashes will be buried at sea off shore from Margate, NJ where his parents first met as teenagers.
