York County – Richard Barry Linthicum, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at his home.

He had been a Peninsula resident for most of his life. Richard was a graduate of Bethel High School Class of 1972. He was a home builder and had a great love of the water.

Richard is survived by his loving companion of 24 years, Cindy; brother, Edward; sons, Brandon and Blake, his wife, Cheyenne and their daughter Aubrey; nephew, Eddie and niece, Kristin.

A Celebration of Life is planned for the future.

In lieu of flower, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Salvation Army.

Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.

Richard, you will forever be missed. I will be retiring without you physically but you will always be with me. Until we meet again dear.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news. Richard was a friend from high school and I'm sure will be missed by all of his friends and family.

I came upon this accidentally and am shocked to hear. Richard and Donald were part of our crowd in high school and until I moved away in '75. So sorry to hear.. Rest in Peace, brother.

So sad to hear of Richard's passing. I remember working with him in the 70's building houses in St. Georges Hundred. My sympathies to the family.

Richard was our classmate at Bethel. A quiet very nice man who was serious about his profession and his family. Thoughts and prayers.

I am so sad to hear the passing of my old friend. He was a very sweet, sweet person and always thought fondly of him throughout the years! Wish I had a chance to say good bye.

The world is not the same without Richard. He was the most selfless person I have ever met. He made me a better person.
