He lived a life marked by dedication to his family and his work as a Regional General Adjuster Supervisor in the insurance industry. He was 77 years old.
Born August 26, 1947, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Richard E. Sherman Sr. and Marjorie Lannan Sherman He was the oldest of 7 siblings-Linda Monte & husband Barry, Pat Mellekas and husband Ted, Susan Blair & partner Larry, Jacqueline Sherman (deceased), Nancy Sherman (deceased), and Joan LaBombard (deceased).
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Sullivan Sherman of fifty-five years, and their loving children: daughter Christy Fetzer and husband Dan of Naselle, Washington; son Matthew Sherman and wife Claudia of Palm Coast, Florida; and daughter Jaclyn Larson and husband Nathan of Chesapeake, Virginia. Richard was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Helena McFalls, Talya Sherman, Dion Sherman, Janelle Sherman, Bergen Larson, Jacob Fetzer, Rylan Larson, and Sullivan Larson. He also leaves behind two cherished great-grandchildren, Melani Garner and Sofia McFalls who all brought much joy to his life.
He graduated from Johnson & Wales College in Providence, RI and Husson College in Bangor, Maine.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through his family.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
