Robert Nolan Boggs
March 4, 1953 - April 5, 2018

Robert “Bobby” Boggs passed away at Sentara CarePlex on Thursday, April 5th 2018. He was 65 years old. A graduate of NNHS, class of 1971, Bobby has called the Newport News area home most of his life.

Bobby had a successful career as a licensed optician. He was an active member of the Boys Scouts of America organization for many years with his son enjoying many adventures including camping. Bobby always enjoyed family time with his brothers and sisters working on cars, renovating their homes and being Mr. Fixit of the family.

He was the son of the late Gurney F. Boggs and Peggy W. Boggs. Bobby is survived by his son, Robert Boggs II of Raleigh, NC. In addition to his son, living siblings Tommy Boggs (Leanna) of Raleigh, NC and Joe Boggs of Newport News and his sisters Wanda Boggs-Abbott of Newport News, VA and Brenda Boggs Wise of Chula Vista, CA; niece, Brittany Boggs, nephews Brandon Boggs and Landon Boggs, a great-niece, two great-nephews, many friends and his cat, Garfield.

Per his wishes, Bobby will be cremated and laid to rest in a private ceremony with friends and family.
