Roger S. Tiangco, 81, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Norfolk, Virginia. Roger was born on October 10, 1940 in the Philippines. He was a graduate of the University of the East with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, major in management. Roger immigrated to the United States in March 1973 with his wife Evangelina. They became naturalized citizens and proceeded to live the American dream. Their marriage of 50 years produced two sons, David and Michael.
Roger worked for the Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company prior to coming to the United States. He would eventually become a successful businessman who enjoyed working for the bank and dealing in real estate. He was a member of the Tidewater Gem and Mineral Society, in charge of Ways and Means. Among his many hobbies and interests, some of his favorites included rockhounding, coin collecting, fishing, gardening, and playing bingo with his friends. Christmas was the holiday that held a special place in his heart. Roger will mostly be remembered as a humanitarian and a loving patriarch who generously provided for his family. He is survived by his wife Evangelina, his sons David and Michael, and his grandsons Dallas and Tyler.
