Rose Muniz, 62, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. Born in Philadelphia on October 6, 1962, Rose was a woman whose warmth, playfulness, and good heart left a lasting impression on everyone who had the joy of knowing her. She had a gift for bringing light into any room—whether through her laughter, her humor, or the way she could make anyone feel loved and cared for.
A former Cardiac Nurse Practicing Doctor with Sentara Hospital, Rose dedicated her life to helping others. Her compassion, patience, and physical touch brought comfort to countless patients over the years. She didn’t just treat people—she truly cared for them, body and soul. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her career. After leaving nursing, she continued to make a difference by caring for and guiding children, sharing the same patience, warmth, and love that made her such a remarkable caregiver.
Rose had many passions that reflected her creative and joyful spirit. She was a talented artist who found beauty in color, shape, and form, often expressing herself through painting and ceramics. She loved music of all kinds—sometimes dancing through the house or humming along as she cooked one of her delicious homemade meals. Cooking was one of her greatest joys; her kitchen was filled with laughter, love, and the mouthwatering aroma from her favorite dishes. She had a special way of turning even the simplest meal into something made with care and love.
Her playful nature shined in everything she did. She possessed a rare gift for sparking laughter, often with a bit of playful teasing or by sharing stories that would light up the room with smiles. She loved nature and found peace in spending time outdoors—feeling the breeze, listening to birds, or simply soaking in the beauty of the world around her. She also cherished the theater, where she could get lost in the magic of storytelling and emotion.
Rose pursued her education at Temple University and Widener University, earning degrees that reflected her determination, intelligence, and love of learning. Her faith in God was the foundation of her life, guiding her with strength and grace. As a former member of Mount Olive Baptist Church at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, she found fellowship, comfort, and a deep sense of purpose in her church community.
Preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Arnold., Rose Muniz is survived by her beloved daughters, Faline Arnold and Rose Santos; her son, Jose M; her mother, Lillian; her siblings—Netta, Lloyd, Patricia/Zahiyya, Pamela, Joey/Jose, Patrick, Renee, Rachel, Linda, Dr. Alethea Wright —as well as many other cherished family members and friends.
