Ruby Virginia Bower, age 99, passed away on September 27, 2021 at Westminster Canterbury in Virginia Beach.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth L. Bower.  

Ruby was a teacher and a principal in the Norfolk Public Schools.  She received her B.A. degree from Western Washington State University and her M.A. degree in Education from William and Mary College.  Ruby was an active member in her church, Coleman Place Presbyterian, located in Norfolk.   

Ruby was born on February 18, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, Washington and is the last survivor of twelve siblings.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends living here and all over the United States, including Alaska.   

A celebration of life will be held at Westminster Canterbury on October 23, 2021 at 11AM. Cremation Society of Virginia, Virginia Beach office, is assisting the family.
