Ruth (Johnson) Ewing was born on October 23rd, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts. Ruth graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in Cambridge Mass. and earned her Master’s degree from Lincoln University. She received certifications in recreational therapy, psychology and business management and has written Christian plays which were performed at area churches. 

Ruth has done many things in her lifetime. She is a writer, a teacher, a playwright, a singer, and an author. If you asked her, she would say her greatest accomplishment is her family. 

Ruth went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of April 15th, 2020. She is survived by her sister Marion Roach, foster sister Jeanie Pinkney, 7 Daughters, 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with their arrangements.
