Samuel Franklin Doyle, Jr., a beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on November 29, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 68. He was born on June 4, 1957, in Norfolk, Virginia to Anita and the late Samuel Doyle, Sr. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 31 years, Karen Doyle.
A graduate of Kellam High School’s class of 1975, Sam enjoyed keeping up with his fellow alumni through Facebook. His professional life was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to service. For over 18 years, Sam was the owner of Pizza Delight and Deli in Pembroke Mall. Later, he served as a bus driver for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools for more than a decade, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless students. Outside of his career, Sam enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, holding a deep affection for football and basketball, and a passionate angler who experienced peace and happiness while fishing and being on the water.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Anita Doyle; daughters, Shannon VanNostrand (Raymond) and Nicol Doyle (Natrel Lewis); grandchildren: Piper, Lucas, and Ethan VanNostrand, and Eviana Lewis; brother, Jeffrey Doyle; sister, Melody Clark; and many extended relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
