Stanley “Butch” William Vane, 63, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 in his Virginia Beach, Virginia home surrounded by his family and best friend. Butch was born May 10, 1958 to Evelyn Yvonne McKenney and William Nelchore Vane in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a graduate of Perry Hall High School in Perry Hall, Maryland. After graduation he traveled the world as a Merchant Marine.

Butch was predeceased by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Debra Price Vane, a host of cousins and loving friends.

A private celebration of life will take place. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Virginia Beach Fallen Hero’s at www.vbfh.org.

I just saw the notice of Butch's passing in today's Baltimore Sun. I'm so sorry for your loss. I went to high school with Butch in Perry Hall and he was a good guy. Many others in the class of '77 felt the same way about him. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

The last time Butch and I spoke, he knew his time was short. He was a student in my Seamanship Course and earned the "S" grade in the United States Power Squadrons. I am sorry to learn of his passing and hope his loved ones had the opportunity to say their personal goodbyes. Fair winds and following seas my friend for this journey.
