What does one say when one loses his closest friend. It was a shock and a terrible loss for all . Steve was not only a great human being but a master of all things musical. Since we were kids we constantly explored what musical process is color texture tonal gravity . We spent many nights playing piano for each other refining techniques and learning theory. His loss to me is personally devastating and I regret in my current state of health I’m unable to travel for the funeral service. I had no idea he was ill just that suddenly I was no longer able to reach him . There is a big Steve shaped hole in my soul. My condolences to Betty , Barbara and Susan also all out musician friends . Goodbye my dear friend sincerely Robert Canestrari.

Betty & Susan, so sorry for your loss. I’m sure Steve will be greatly missed. I haven’t seen or visited with you in many years, but have thought of you often. We live out of town so won’t be able to attend the service, I’m sending much love to all. Cousin, Alice
