I just found out about the passing of Susie I was so shocked she is one person I thought would live forever What a wonderful woman, she never met a stranger and she made you feel like you had been friends forever. I met her in 1974 when I moved to Yorktown One of the things I remember most was how much she loved to travel on one trip she called asking if I would go by her house and check on something I said I don’t have a key she said no problem the door is unlocked I was shocked but she was not her door was always opened that is the way she lived her life her door was always opened to everyone she knew She loved her family dearly She will be missed by so many God has a new SPECIAL ANGEL♥️

Susie and family were my next door neighbors in Marlbank. While watching her transition through several different times of her life, I am now searching for words to fully convey the kind of woman she was. Yes, she was strong but she used that strength in ways to raise good children, to contribute to the community, to be a friend to whoever needed her and to live her life to the fullest. And yes, we also went to Yorkminster Presbyterian Church together. It has been many years now since she sold her house and moved permanently to the Outer Banks. We missed her but knew she was happier and I shall always be grateful I had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, Susie.

Dearest Susie and John also. I've always thought of you both. Especially Susie when you let me take you to the Jr. Prom. You were the most beautiful girl there and I was so lucky to be with you. Deepest sympathies to your family and God be with you. Ed

Cindy, I’m so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know until Monday after the SMAK musical. I’m so proud of Catharine in her performance...and especially when I heard about your family’s loss. Susie was a most gracias hostess to me, my sister, Frances Blair Wall, Jack Wall, Frances’ husband when Susie invited us to visit her in Corolla. She gave us a tour of Corolla, shared a meal she cooked with us, and exhibited her family portrait including grandchildren. Frances and Susie shared memories of high school life. I also shared memories of our GAA times with her. May she continue her work with the angels!

My condolences to the entire Snead family. I for one did not expect to lose Susie so soon. I was looking forward to so many more of her stories and insights. When we were young her command and leadership were vital. I will miss her as will many.

I'm so sorry to hear of Susie's passing. She was a great lady. I remember her so fondly from my youth in Marlbank, especially her smile, her laugh, and how feisty she was on a tennis court! Heart-felt condolences to Sheron and the rest of the family.

Thinking of all the "Snead" family members today. As your next door neighbor for many years in Marlbank, many memories come to mind. Susie was indeed no-nonsense but caring and loving at the same time, not unlike my father Italo (who just turned 90 and doing well). Susie and our beloved Gunnel (passed in 1996) may well be neighbors again, watching over their children and grandchildren and guiding us still. May God rest her soul, bless you all and reunite you in eternal love. Respectfully, Mark

My sincere condolences go out to Ms. Susie's family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand here at Whalehead. I can never thank her enough for helping me at Under the Oaks Artist Festival and even housing artist while they were in town for the show! I'm honored to have known her.

What a beautiful remembrance of a remarkable woman! I knew Susie as the no-nonsense mom of my best friend, Cindy. I spent the night at Susie's house many times and was always welcomed with open arms from the time I was in high school until I had children of my own. I know how much she means to Cindy and share the feeling of loss. Best wishes to all family and friends.
